U11 Select Tryouts Registration OPEN!
GMSA is excited to announce the try-out for the U11 Select Team. It is important for your player to attend this try-out if they are interested in being part of the U11 Select Team.
Date and time:- Sunday, February 8, 11am to 1pm at Ken Danby Public School in Guelph.
Our coaches for the 2026 U11 Select Team have been confirmed:
Chris Dezorzi: Head Coach
Jay Marcone: Assistant Coach
Prior to trying out, players must be registered for our GMSA House League program for 2026 if you have not yet done so. In addition, there is a separate registration form for the try-out that must be completed to ensure we have an accurate list of players who will attend the try-out.

What is the Select Program?
The Select Program provides a more competitive environment for house league players.
What is the extra time commitment?
In addition to playing on a regular GMSA team, girls who play in the Select program will play with a different group of teammates. The Select team will usually meet (practice) once per week. Select teams may play in additional exhibition games (in Guelph or in other centres) and in tournaments offered by Ontario Select Softball Tournaments Association members in Ontario. Practices and games for Select Teams will be in addition to the player's standard practices and games for their house league season teams. House league must take priority.
Who is eligible to participate in the Select Program?
The program is only available for girls in U11. All girls in these age groups are eligible for consideration, though not all players are guaranteed to be selected for a team. Girls that want to participate on a Select Team are only eligible if they are registered players in GMSA.
How are teams selected for the Select Program?
Players will be considered based on a combination of feedback from coaches from previous seasons and observations from the Select tryouts and and player evaluations. It is possible that not all interested players will be chosen for a Select Team.
Select is a great way to get in more ball this summer and to elevate your skills to the next level!
