Featured Gator ~ #19 Jorgia Samborski "Joey"
Submitted By GMSA on Monday, March 26, 2018
Jorgia first played ball when she joined GMSA house league at 8 years old. From that moment, she was hooked and knew she wanted to be a Gator. The following summer, she tried out for the Gators Mite team and made it!
She started the season still a relatively bare canvas, very new and just learning, and since then she has grown exponentially both in the game as well as an athlete. Now, at 10, she is beginning her second season as a Guelph Gator Mite and her first year as a pitcher!
Jorgia is a loyal fan of the Blue Jays. Watching those games was a huge spark in driving her to want to play, and is also where her nickname was born. After the season, Jorgia went away to camp and by the end of the week, she was known to others only as Joey (Bats). Besides ball, she is passionate about saving animals, protecting the environment, scary movies, forensics and her cats.
Looking back on her first season as a Gator, she has had some spectacular experiences with her team, including placing second at the provincial qualifiers. She is very excited and working hard to make this second season just as amazing!
GMSA wishes Jorgia all the best in her future as a Guelph Gator!
