GMSA/Gators Communication Update & 2021 Schedule at a Glance
Dear Guelph Minor Softball Association/Gators families,

With the Ontario Government’s most recent update, the GMSA/Gators organization is now able to move forward with our 2021 season planning. The structure of our season may look a little different than in the past (prior to Covid19), please keep this in mind as we navigate through this pandemic together. In line with our mission, we want all players and their families to know that our main goals for this season, just like any other, include: player skill development, physical activity and rich social experiences.

Below is our 2021 Schedule at a Glance…

GMSA Registration Deadline – May 30th

The cut-off date to register has been extended, please be sure to register your child by Sunday, May 30th. We will not accept any registrations beyond this date as we will be organizing teams based on these final numbers.

GMSA Team Assignment Meeting - June 5th

Members from our board will be organizing teams and assigning coaches. Further, we will assign team cohorts as necessary to abide to the government ‘10 persons per group training’ guidelines (which will be in effect June 14th – July 5th).

GMSA Coaches Meeting – June 7th via Zoom Platform

Coaches will receive a package including GMSA Return to Training Protocols, Practice Plan Template, Team Schedules and Team Roster information.

GMSA House League Season – Beginning the week of June 14th

Coaches will be able to reach out and communicate with families regarding the season after our GMSA Coaches Meeting on June 7th. Stay tuned for more information.

GMSA Learn to Play Clinics – June 14th, 21st, 28th

We will be resuming our LTP clinics at Exhibition A2 on Monday nights from 6 to 8 pm. Further detailed communications will be sent out to all previous session participants via email.

GMSA/Gators Night in the Park – postponed to August 2021

The government’s Roadmap to Reopen indicates that it will take time to progress through Steps One, Two and Three. We will postpone our annual GMSA/Gator Night in the Park to the end of the summer in hopes that gathering limits expand. Please stay tuned for more information to come in late July/early August.

GMSA Photos – postponed to August 2021

We are working on restructuring how we do our photos with a goal of each player and every sponsor receiving a team photo. More information will be provided in early August.
