2022 Season Rep - Guelph Gators U15 | May 30, 2022 | The Penson Family | 383 views
The U15 Gators are having a BALL! The U15 team were finally able to participate in their first tournament of the season. After being sidelined for their first tournament due to injuries, the girls made it to the semi-finals in the Halton Hawks 2022 May Classic! Finishing 3rd after the round robin with a 3-1 record and a +29 run differential! The girls were crushing bombs, making plays in the field, throwing runners out, stealing bases and tagging girls out at home.
During our second round robin game we had an extensive rain delay, where the Guelph Gators and the Whitby Eagles showed the true meaning of softball with a game of tic tac toe and rock paper scissors! The Gators came out on top of the game but ultimately the Whitby Eagles won, thanks to one of the Whitby Eagles little brothers ☺
Picking up the first MVP of the tourney was Jorgia #19 with a stellar performance on the mound. Our 2nd MVP of the tourney was Marissa #21, who came back after two weeks off due to injury, striking out three batters with only 10 pitches! Following this up in the 3rd game was Alexis #22 with some great glove work in the outfield as well as hitting a bomb and scoring 2 ribbie’s. The final MVP was awarded to Mary #14 with a great hit at the opportune time to start a 2 out rally which led to the Gators coming back to win their final game of the round robin.
Great weekend fun and sportsmanship was had by all! U15 Gators will participate in their next tournament June 10–12 in the Barrie Summer Bash.
