How The Grinch Stole Third Base
Each year in Guelph, there’s a grand holiday cheer,With floats, and with music, and Guelphvillians so dear. But this year, oh this year, something special occurred—The Guelph Gators arrived, and the crowd was quite stirred.

You see, the Gators, on alert for a Grinchy base stealer,
Played fast, but fair, to catch the green cheater.
They played ball in the summer, they slid in the dirt,
But this Christmas they found they could do it a skirt!

It all started one cold and blustery night,
When the Gators decided, “We’ll join in the sight!”
“We’ll march in the parade, with a festive display,
And spread Christmas cheer in our own special way!”

They gathered their gloves, their bats, and their balls,
They brainstormed a float that would stand above all.
With lights and glitter and garlands of green,
They transformed their ride into a holiday scene.

Now, in case you don’t know, Gators don’t sit still,
They run, they leap, they throw and they thrill.
But a parade’s not a place for a fast ball or slide,
So they decorated their float with great holiday pride.

The Gators wore jerseys, all sparkly and bright,
With Santa hats perched in a magical sight.
They cheered, and they laughed, and waved to the crowd,
Their spirits so jolly, so boisterous, so proud.

And as the float rolled along the snowy path,
The Guelph Gators brought on a loud, joyful laugh.
“Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas!” they shouted with glee,
As candy and smiles rained down from the streets.

The Gators weren’t there just to show off their skill,
They wanted to spread joy, and festive good will.
For Christmas is more than just games we can play—
It’s about coming together in a fun, festive way.

So next year when you watch the parade go by,
And you see Gators grinning, don’t ask yourself why.
Just know it’s their tradition, it’s their season’s delight,
To join in the joy, with the world shining bright.

For the Guelph Gators proved, with a cheer and a twist,
That Christmas with softball? Now that’s something not to miss!
