Gators dusted off those cleats for the Spring Tune-Up

The Guelph Gators U16 team coached by Mark Hurry had a very successful weekend in April.  The ladies played 3 games in this 1 day tournament and walked away with 3 wins.

Game 1 against London - Final Score 6-4 
The game was tied at 4 with Guelph batting in the bottom of the 6th when KJ hit a solo homer.  KJ went 4-for-5 at the plate, singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd and homered in the 6th.
Rakiyah started the Gators off in the 1st inning when she tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring 1 run.  Rakiyah was Guelph's starting pitcher and surrendered two runs on 3 hits over 2 innings, striking out 4 and walking ZERO!
Guelph had 11 hits in the game, KJ, Rakiyah, and Alyssa all managed multiple hits for the Guelph Gators.  They tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases.  Alyssa led the way with two.

Game 2 VS Mississauga Tigers - Final Score 14-1
Our Gators scored 8 runs in the first inning.  Rakiyah, KJ, Brooklyn, Kamika, Ruby, and Alyssa each drove in runs during the inning.
Gators fired up the offense in the first inning.  Rakiyah drove in two when she homered.  She also led the Gators to victory in the circle, allowing two hits and one run over 4 innings, striking out 8.
Gators tallied 15 hits in the game.  Sumyr, Karleigh, Alyssa, KJ, and Lee all had multiple hits for Guelph.  Sumyr went 3-for-3 at the plate to the the Gators in hits.  Sumyr led Guelph with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 11 stolen bases.  Guelph did not commit a single error in the field.

Game 3 VS Halton - Final Score 9-8
Gators started with a 5 run lead and held off the Hawks for a 9-8 victory.  Hawks failed to get the comeback, Gators took the lead for good when Karleigh tripled in the 2nd on a 0-2 count scoring 2 runs, Lilah grounded out scoring 1 run, and Brooklyn singled on a 3-2 count, scoring 1 run.  Lee was the winning pitcher for Guelph she went two and a third innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out 5.
